MONEY TO INVEST? WHERE IT WILL HELP THE MOST…..WHY ISN’T SOMEONE DOING THIS ALREADY?

Are you one of the blessed Americans who has money to invest with others who also do? I cannot understand why someone hasn’t started doing this years ago. Did you not know the “SUPPLY” AND DEMAND for affordable Baby Boomer housing was coming down the pike?

People are living longer. We, speaking as a single “boomer” am not able to keep up a single family home on my own anymore. The mind is sharp but the body ages you know. So the only alternatives are rentals: studio apartments, 1 bedroom apartments or a 2 bedroom shared with a compatible roomie….( that’s a real trick to find someone one can live comfortably with and share the expenses and the management of a home to live in, isn’t it?) Sad....homes that need love and seniors that need to have homes.

I have been browsing the affordable places for me….which isn’t much, but non the less, there are some out there. My question: Who is developing complexes with all the necessary businesses  included on site? Like a beauty shop/barber, grocery store, pharmacy, transportation to dr and dentist appointments, small laundry appliances in each unit, screened porches or lanai’s, safety bars in the bathrooms, a pool and fitness center, a library, a coffee-house with WIFI,….AFFORDABLE DWELLINGS FOR THOSE OF US THAT PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL THE TECHNICAL AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE US IN THE PAST?

It seems with all the gigantically huge square footage homes being foreclosed it would be Prime Time for investors to pick some up, do basic renovating and lease it to groups of people who would love a place of their own but aren’t able to keep one themselves. Just think, if someone’s passion is cooking, let them cook; if it’s gardening, let them tend the flower gardens; if they still are able to drive, let them be the community chauffeur; if they love to clean let them do it! If the residents say 6 total, each have a separate sleeping suite but also have areas they are responsible for and can also pitch in for services they need but can’t do, just IMAGINE….the passion for living that would be sparked, the enjoyment of people and companionship would be ignited, the attitudes of the residents just might mellow and soften….because their attitudes will change from useless to useful!

It might just be the new age commune environment of the 60′s!!!!!

Our “seasoned” population has so much to contribute to America. We have years of stories and wisdom to impart to the younger generation that just might help alter the corruption and greed so prevalent in America today. It may play a role in returning to the days of yesteryear where families relied upon one another.

Of course I love my freedom and independence, it’s taken me numerous years and experiences to love my quietude and alone-ness and yet I miss the companionship of others I can relate to that think along the same creative, curious lines that I DO! I and others as we season still want to find our “purpose”….our “bliss”….we are NOT ready to be put out to pasture or to choose between the high costs of medicine or food…If we have affordable housing perhaps we would have extra in our own coffers so we could “volunteer” our services instead of knowing we will have to work often at minimum wage until the day we die! Many businesses could use our expertise and work ethics in ways that grow their companies if only we can inspire some of you to see the light….to take your hard earned money and invest it where it may make a difference….where it will help the most. It makes me contemplate….Why isn’t someone doing this already?

It seems as if it would be a win-win for all of us: Investors would have business tax write-offs, their funds would be safer than in the volatile stock market, they would have the sense of being a philanthropist perhaps by helping those that walked before them to live a better quality of life. Where are you folks? Are you doubling your wealth and yet your sense of leaving a viable legacy leaves you feeling empty, spent? Band together….begin a new journey, become a pioneer in our economy. See if the creation of a solution for us “seasoned folks” doesn’t spread across the miles and provide you with a true sense of accomplishment. Anything is possible….So why isn’t someone doing this already?
